Putin is a fascist bastard and the Russian government is a bunch of sheep following his bullying, cowardly ways.  They are beneath contempt and worthy only of respect only for the incredibly immoral lengths that they are willing to go to in order to accomplish illegitimate foreign policy goals.  Read this article for an excellent summary of the crimes they are committing against Georgia and, more importantly, a lesson that Europe keeps forgetting:  appeasement NEVER WORKS!!!

Givi is very sick.  He is on the other side of the world, in Georgia, and there is little I can do to help him except provide a voice of reason and quality-control remotely. 

 

There is no worse feeling in the world than having a gravely ill child that you are powerless to help.

I've often thought that the future of sustainable development will remain beyond mankind's grasp until the Environmentalist movement - the watchmen of the Stewardship Earth movement - learn to meld idealism with practicality.  Here's hoping this founder of Greenpeace's epiphany is a harbinger of what is to come.
